Are you fucking KIDDING me???

Pardon the language, but this has got me steamed. To quote Futurama, I'm literally angry with rage.

Barack Obama has stopped wearing an American flag lapel pin. His explanation is that he believes wearing one has become a substitute for actual patriotism. The media went wild on this, yelling about how this means he's obviously not patriotic and/or doesn't support the troops. Media? Shut. The. FUCK. Up.

You're seriously going to try to make this into an issue? Because he doesn't wear a particular piece of jewelry, he's some sort of traitor now?

I don't wear one. I also don't have a ribbon magnet on my car, a "Support the Troops" bumper sticker, or a flag hanging from my apartment. OH SHIT! I MUST BE A TERRORIST-LOVER! Give me a break. And the media wonders why people don't take them seriously anymore.

Y'know, I really, really, really hate to "throw the race card", but I can't help but wonder if some of this hyper reaction may be motivated by something more. I wonder what would happen if another (read: white) candidate did what Obama has. I have a sickening feeling that it wouldn't get nearly this kind of reaction.

I mean, I will agree that I think he is over-hyped in some of the praise he gets and I think that may be somewhat racially motivated as well. But for the most part, I think he's doing what I wish more politicians would and that is saying what he actually thinks. Unfortunately, that may be his undoing in today's Bizarro political climate.

Hello, Halo

When I was pre-ordering another game a while back, I saw that the store had begun accepting pre-orders for Halo 3. I knew I would eventually get the game so I figured I might as well go ahead and pre-order that as well.

I'm sure glad I did.

Now, I'm not going to go all "ZOMG HALO IZ TEH BEST GAME EVARZ!" here. However, Bungie goes to great pains to make the multiplayer experience one of the best around and I enjoy running around killing other players in multiplayer. It's a stress reliever for me. And I *really* needed it today. It's been a very crappy week for me and may get even worse tomorrow. I needed some way to blow off some steam and I got that tonight.

I'm not the best player ever, but I enjoyed this one. I got pwned a few times and put up a decent fight other times. But most of all, I forgot about my worries for a while and calmed down a whole bunch. I look forward to playing more in the future as well. See ya online! (Gamertag: Pseudowolf)

First Post

What you are now reading is my very first post on my very first blog. Hopefully, there will be many more to come. I created this blog for two reasons. One is that everyone seems to have one these days. Second is that, quite frankly, I wanted a place to post on stuff that interests, angers, and/or inspires me enough that I feel it merits commenting. That's what this will be. A place for yet one more random person on the great wide internet to post news, views, and random musings. And it all starts by clicking the "Publish Post" button, which I'm doing.......now!
